How is recycled paper made?

Paper is a material that is used almost every day and in a variety of areas: from taking notes to packaging goods to hygienic purposes. However, there is increasing talk of the need to use recycled paper, a product that is made from waste and is environmentally friendly. No wonder, then, that recycled paper, also known as recycled paper, is becoming more and more popular every year. How is it produced? And why is it so important? We answer these and other questions in our article.

How is recycled paper produced?

Paper is used on an almost daily basis for a variety of purposes: from taking notes to packaging to hygiene purposes. However, there is increasing talk of the need to use recycled paper, a product that is made from waste and is environmentally friendly. No wonder, then, that recycled paper, also known as recycled paper, is becoming more and more popular every year. How is it produced? And why is it so important? We answer these and other questions in our article.

How is recycled paper made?

Various raw materials are used in the production of recycled paper: from pure cellulose extracted from coniferous or hardwood, to cotton pulp, eucalyptus pulp, straw pulp and recycled paper.

The last factor is the most important, as it means that the final product is environmentally friendly and is made using recycled materials. However, to create high-quality recycled paper, it is necessary to:

  • collecting old papers,
  • sorting them properly,
  • then pulped, cleaned and, finally, dehydrated.

Of course, modern technology and equipment are used at each stage to streamline and facilitate the entire process. A very important step is to strip the paper of elements such as staples, threads or any impurities that cannot appear in the finished product. The process also involves the use of chemicals that are responsible for, among other things, discolouring the material.

Importantly, thanks to the modern processing process, recycled paper, or ecofriendly paper, can be found in many different versions, which are different in terms of colour or thickness. The original, traditional products in shades of grey and brown can be used for packaging goods, while the more modern, colourful solutions can be used for printing, among other things.

Why is recycled paper important?

Creating recycled paper and replacing traditional paper that is made 'from scratch' with it is of great importance. Above all, it is about benefiting the environment and using raw materials that are already in circulation. By using recycled paper, there is no longer any need for new materials.

Importantly, all this has a huge impact on the ecology and on the lives of future generations. It is therefore important to remember to choose eco-friendly solutions created from recycled paper, and to join in the action of separating waste.

Finally, it is worth mentioning the wide range of applications for recycled paper. Its interesting appearance and durability mean that it is used, among other things, for making paper bags, envelopes, notebooks, packaging, gift cards, as well as business cards, brochures, flyers or posters.
