PAPER - BOARD FACTORY

Tektura Opakowania Papier is a joint stock company with private capital and history connected with papermaking on the Polish land from the beginning.

The company owns three paper machines located in the Paper Mill Department in Tychy Czułów and the Department of Solid and Glued Board in Katowice - Kostuchna. Machines producing cover papers, sleeve boards and solid boards are integrated in processing lines for the production of bobbin and glued boards. The company employs more than 200 people. It is an important supplier to many national and European manufacturers of bobbins, toilet papers and furniture.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Manufacturing of paperboard and paper bales

TOP S.A.'s aim is to produce high-quality recycled cardboard and paperboard and paper bales. We are constantly improving our production, striving to achieve the highest possible quality of our products. Our solid and sheet cardboard, recycled papers and paper bobbins meet all the standards required for this type of product. However, this does not exempt us from seeking new solutions and increasing environmental rigour. We actively work in the field of sustainability and environmental protection. Out of a sense of responsibility for the protection of nature, we are implementing new methods of using waste paper and recycling.

By our actions, we build long-term and professional relationships with our business partners.

HISTORIA FIRMY

1883 The owner of a chemist's shop in Jelenia Góra takes land on a perpetual lease from the Duke of Pszczyna for the construction of a pulp factory in the village of Czułów
1887 Start of production
1914 Construction of a workers' housing estate and a school in the vicinity of the factory First World War - decline in production, serious damage to the factory
1922 Upper Silesian Pulp and Paper Joint Stock Company - plan for rebuilding the factory; launch of a pulp mill
1925 First packaging paper machine installed
1945 The plant is destroyed in 80%, the whole crew takes part in rebuilding; the factory is nationalised
1970 The factory employs 930 people and takes the leading position in paper production in Poland
1972 Modernisation of wrapping paper machines
1974 New machine for glue board production
1976 Decommissioning of the pulp mill
1992 Tychy and Kostuchna - Silesian Paper Factory employs 400 people
1995 Establishment of SILESIANPAP S.A. by the State Treasury
1996 Wastewater treatment facilities completed and put into operation. In November 1996, the French OTOR group acquired a controlling stake through an agreement with the State Treasury. The new company is registered as OTOR Silesia S.A.
1997 Implementation of corrugated board production and processing
2007 Consortium of investors buys the company. Change of name to TOP S.A.
2011 THIMM Verpackung & SAICA Pack buys the corrugated board production and processing part of the company and creates TOP THIMM Packaging. TOP SA modernises the production and processing of paper and solid cardboard.
2012 The Company reinstalls the waste paper plant and, using a high concentration hydropulper, starts recycling multi-material packaging. By developing paper processing directly from the paper machine line, it adopts a strategy to enter the group of leaders in the production of bobbin, solid board and bonded board.
2015 Modernisation of the dust extraction and heat recovery system in the plant boiler room realised with the financial support of WFOŚiGW in Katowice.
2015 - 2016 Modernisation of the MPIV and MPV machines
2016 TOP SA becomes a member of PIE - Polish Chamber of Ecology
